The Mi Chaii Story

The first Mi Chaii opened in 2019, but its roots go back generations, embracing the love of food, and the joys of sharing great food together, that are at the heart of Indian and South Asian culture.

The idea of an exciting and vibrant new café concept was created by our founder, Mahboob Hussain, but can be traced back to the arrival of his father in the UK in 1964. He brought with him not just a selection of traditional chaii, but also a passion for the flavours and experience of great street food passed down by generations of his family.

Many decades later, Mahboob has set up a number of successful businesses, but has always harboured a dream to recreate some of the magic of his inheritance, and so Mi Chaii was born! Now operating in a number of top UK locations, Mahboob and his team want Mi Chaii to become the go-to place in towns and cities across the country for family, friends, and even strangers, to come together and share something wonderful.

As a concept so close to his heart, Mab was determined to grow Mi Chaii across the UK as a franchise because he wants to attract the most talented and dedicate individuals to the brand. People who can share in his mission to enrich the lives of their customers through superior street food and excellent customer service, and can share his passion for growing a successful and rewarding business.
